WAW Green Banking
Sustainability has been a part of the ethos at WAW Credit Union since our inception over 60 years ago – it is part of our DNA. For over a decade, WAW have been aligned with several local renewable energy initiatives and have provided customers with access to low-cost 'green' loans for the installation of solar power generation panels and hot water services.
In more recent times, WAW has become a keen participant in various Community Energy groups, where we support the activities of Totally Renewable Yackandandah (TRY), Renewable Albury Wodonga (RAW) and now of course, Indigo Power. WAW is excited about the community energy movement in our region – we’re proud to be involved.
In addition to being economically sustainable and environmentally responsible, WAW’s corporate social responsibility signifies our understanding and our commitment to responding to the community in which we operate. WAW also adheres to the Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice, a voluntary code of conduct that binds WAW to the promise of recognising the impact our actions have on our community in order to promote community engagement and ensure we are contributing to community actions and projects.
